January 1st Is Just One Day of the Year

I like New Year’s Resolutions. I like the whooshing noise they make as they fall away.*

Truly though, I do think New Year's resolutions can be good. They were a staple of all my growing up and young adulthood years. They provide an opportunity to imagine a better version of ourselves and work toward it.

Now there is more awareness in society that the pressure these resolutions can put on us and the feelings of failure when we give up on them might not exactly be healthy for us.

My advice is do not forget that you can make resolutions or set goals anytime. And if your goals aren’t working out for you, you can reevaluate them and set new ones anytime.

Today (any day) is the first day of the rest of your life. Go ahead and make a resolution.
