How to Set the Move Goal on Your Apple Watch

When you first set up your Apple Watch, it chooses a move goal for you. And periodically it recommends new goals. Sometimes you just want to set the move goal yourself. This article walks you through it, on the watch or on your phone.

How to Set the Apple Watch Move Goal

You can change your move goal in the Activity app on your watch.

  1. Open the Activity app. (It’s the icon with the three rings.)

  2. Swipe all the way to the bottom, and tap Change Goals.

  3. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your move goal. Then tap Next.

  4. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your exercise goal. Then tap Next.

  5. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your stand goal. Then tap OK.

You can also change your move goal in the Fitness app on your phone.

  1. Open the Fitness app. (It’s the icon with the three rings.)

  2. Tap the account icon in the upper-right corner.

  3. Tap Change Goals.

  4. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your move goal. Then tap Change Move Goal.

  5. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your exercise goal. Then tap Change Exercise Goal.

  6. Tap the plus or minus to increase or decrease your stand goal. Then tap Change Stand Goal.
